Rule Changes

Domain Name Rule Changes

There are some up and coming rule changes that will affect the domain name

auDA (who is the administration body for all .au domains) have released new eligibility rules for .au domain names which take effect on the 12th of April 2021. These changes will affect our eligibility for this domain name.

What are the changes?

The namespace is for use by not-for-profit entities. In the new licensing rules, the definition of a not-for-profit entity has been updated and no longer includes unincorporated associations which are not registered with Australian Charities and Not for Profit Commission (ACNC). Mangrove Mountain Union Church Incorporated is MOST DEFINITELY a not-for-profit entity but is not registered with ACNC.

Consequently MMUC Inc. will no longer be able to hold a domain name in the space.

The new licensing rules are effective as of 12 April 2021. It is possible that his website may close down once the MMUC Inc. licence is due for renewal.
