Anzac Day 2017
The people of Mangrove Mountain Union Church honour the memory of those who served to ensure Australia stayed a free country during times of conflict. We especially remember those from this district who paid the ultimate sacrifice for their fellow country men and women.
In particular we acknowledge the contribution made by William Jamieson and Richard Le Gray who fought during World War One. Unfortunately the church records about these men are no longer available. The committee would be very grateful to hear from anyone who has information, or photos, of William and Richard so that they can be given the recognition they so rightfully deserve.
In addition, if anyone knows how we can mount this plaque, found on the church property, in a suitable manner, we would love to hear from you. The citation says: “Sacred to the memory of William Jamieson and Richard Le Gray who enlisted from this district and fell in the World War of 1914-1918.“
Please go to our contact page to find out how you can get in touch.
Lest we forget.
