Meet Richard

Meet Richard

Meet Richard.

Richard is one of the contributors to the Poets’ Breakfast at MMUC on September 29th and he has a most impressive pedigree. Richard’s great-grandfather, William Thomas Goodge, was a well-known Australian writer and poet during the late 1800’s. His collected works “Hits! Skits! And Jingles!” was illustrated by Norman Lindsay.

Richard’s sense of humour must come from this illustrious relative who specialised in writing comic ballads, light-verse poems and short stories. Richard is certain to entertain and leave us wanting to hear more.

Bringing People Together

Bringing People Together

Tables are traditionally a place to talk and to get on to each other’s wavelengths.
Fences separate and divide.

MMUC believes and practises in the value of bringing people together, to recognise the worth of all people. We can all contribute to our community, each in our own way.

Smoke Screen

Smoke Screen

There are lots of hazard reductions being undertaken by the NSW RFS and the National Parks and Wildlife Service in the local area at present. This causes the air to become smoky and hazy at times.

Poets’ Breakfast

Poets’ Breakfast

Join us for a wonderful morning of poetry and laughter, not to mention great food.
An assortment of bush poets and short story tellers will regale us with amusing, inspirational and educational tales, some of which will be based on the theme of “a little country church”.
A hearty breakfast of bacon, sausage, tomato, mushroom, eggs, toast and fruit with tea, coffee or juice will make this an event not to be missed.

For those who wish to join in the fun and tell us their poems or short stories, an open mic will be available on the day for a small fee.
The cost is $20 which is all-inclusive of breakfast and poetry.

All profits go towards the upkeep of the historic 106-year-old Little White Church on the Hill.

Gentle Words

Gentle Words

The next service at MMUC will be the Christmas in July event on this Saturday night beginning at 7 pm. On Sunday, July 29th, the Uniting Church service at 9 am will be led by Pastor Tom Clark.

Gentle words will, no doubt, be spoken.

We look forward to seeing you at one or both of these occasions.
